Foundations of Economics
is a two-part introductory programme for anyone who wants to better understand how economic choices shape everyday life and society.
In Course I, we begin with the choices people, households, businesses, and markets make: how prices emerge, why incentives matter, how competition works, and what happens when markets do not work as expected.
Course II broadens the perspective to the economy as a whole. We explore questions such as economic growth, inflation, unemployment, taxation, public spending, and the role governments can play in shaping economic life.
Each course consists of five sessions. Course I provides the foundation for Course II and is therefore a prerequisite for the second course.
No previous knowledge of economics is required.
